KUALA LUMPUR: Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s allegation that Umno is behind the campaign to boycott the 14th General Election by spoiling votes, is baseless, said Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Dahlan.
He said this is because those involved in the campaign were opposition supporters, who were disappointed by them.
“Most of those backing the move to spoil votes and refusing to vote are not Barisan Nasional’s supporters, but in fact are the opposition supporters, who are disappointed with the opposition.
“BN supporters still want us to remain as the government, so they will go out to cast their votes,” he said.
It was reported that Mahathir had claimed that the #undirosak campaign shared on social media would only benefit Umno.
Disagreeing with the campaign, Rahman said the people needed to cast their votes and choose who they want as the government.
