PPBM division youth lambasts Dr M for criticising RoS

PUTRAJAYA: Klang Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) Youth today urges the party to stop criticising the Registrar of Society (RoS) when ironically PPBM itself has failed to comply with its own constitution.

Its chief Mohd Khairol Faizal Mohd Nordin claimed PPBM’s leadership under chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad had blamed RoS over a purported failure to address PPBM issues.

The problems include the absence of terms “Angkatan Bersatu Anak Muda” (Armada) and “Srikandi” for PPBM youth and women’s wings respectively in the party’s constitution, and failure to hold branch-level meetings prior to its annual general meeting (AGM) held on Dec 30.

“The AGM did not follow the constitution. For instance, the wings did not carry out their respective meetings before the AGM. Meetings at branch and division levels are important to elect delegates.

“However, we learned that eight representatives from each division’s top leadership had been picked (earlier) for the AGM,” Khairol told reporters after submitting formal complaints to the RoS here PPBM’s constitutional issues.

Also present were Klang PPBM Srikandi chief Juliana Mansor.

Both Khairol and Juliana also said instead of Dr Mahathir, PPBM president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin was more suitable to lead the party and Pakatan Harapan opposition pact.

“There are many young talents in Pakatan, and Dr Mahathir should give way to young leaders. It doesn’t mean that he is better than the others just because he was the prime minister for 22 years,” Khairol said.
