Abdul Rahman Dahlan tells Robert Kuok to 'enjoy retirement', give way to younger generation

KOTA KINABALU: Barisan Nasional Strategic Communication director who is also Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Dahlan, said personalities that have passed their prime should enjoy their retirement and let the younger generation do the work instead.

The Kota Belud Member of Parliament said individuals like Tan Sri Robert Kuok had already served in various capacities in the business world just like Tun Mahathir Mohamad did in the political arena.

"For me if we have done our part like Tun M and Kuok, it is time to enjoy retirement.

“I do not think it is a good idea (to serve and enter politics) at this age. This is because the younger generation want people who are young and have many ideas,” he added.

Rahman said this after officiating a community programme in Inanam here.

He was commenting on a recent statement by political analyst Raja Petra Kamarudin, carried in www.malaysia-today.net website, claiming Kuok has an agenda to replace the current government with DAP to allow the Chinese community helm this country.

Raja Petra said Kuok wanted to create disruption within the Malay community towards attaining the goal.
