Pakatan Harapan completes seat allocation for all states except Sabah

GEORGE TOWN: Pakatan Harapan has completed its seat allocation discussions for both state and parliamentary seats for all states except Sabah.

Pakatan Harapan president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail said that the opposition pact had wrapped up and agreed on all the seat allocations.

She however remained coy on the date to officially announce the seat allocations.

“We have yet to finalise the candidates. Last minute changes might need to be done.

“There will be a mix of old and fresh faces with Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad as the benchmark for the new candidates.

“Once we have the full list, we will make the announcement at the presidential meeting,” she said after the Penang PKR fund raising dinner at Setia Spice Convention Centre here on Friday night.

Sources close to the party revealed that the announcement would be made by next week, between March 8 and March 11.

Also present during the fund raising ceremony were DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng, PKR vice-president Tian Chua, Parti Amanah Negara (PAN) president Mohamad Sabu and state Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) chairman Marzuki Yahya.

It was previously reported that the seat allocation for the opposition pact remained inconclusive, with the allocation for Selangor labeled as a mess, as component party leaders made conflicting statements on the never-ending and unresolved issue over which party should contest which seat.
