Four PPBM members quit to join Umno [NSTTV]

TAIPING: Four members of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) including two Larut division leaders have quit the party and joined Umno today.

They are Larut division chief Mohd Radzi Ramli, Srikandi chief Rosnani Wahab; and two other members Habibah Abdul Rahmat and Sobri Mat Zain.

The announcement was also witnessed by the Larut member of parliament Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin and Larut Umno division chief Datuk Faisol Arby Mohd Shohor.

Citing lack of confidence over the party's state leadership, Radzi said they were also being used by the former prime minister who is also PPBM chairman, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

"We are honestly losing our trust and confidence in the party's leadership under Ahmad Faizal Azumu.

"He did not fulfil his promise which is to divide the fund in order to organise programmes as well as to have central district poll and facilities for the operational rooms in Larut parliamentary constituency.

"We are also dissatisfied over seat allocations for the 14th General Election (GE14) which is more to DAP, where they get 18 seats compared to PPBM, Parti Amanah and PKR," he said.

Radzi said should the PH win in the next general election, DAP would rule the state and the position of Menteri Besar would be among them.

"During my stint as PPBM Larut division chief, I felt like I was being used for their own agenda.

"Furthermore, PPBM's objective is to topple our Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and there is no other objective than that," he said, adding that there will be more PPBM members leaving the party soon.

Last month, 50 members of PPBM in Larut quit the party and joined Umno.

They were led by the former secretary of PPBM Larut, Shafie Mohd Khairy, who said they had lost confidence in the PPBM leadership and struggle because the party only championed the interests of certain individuals.

They did not have trust in the leadership of Ahmad Faizal because his appointment was made with the influence of DAP.
