DPM reprimands BN component party leaders who do not support programmes with the people organised by party

SEREMBAN: Barisan Nasional (BN) deputy chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi reprimanded BN component party leaders who did not support any programme with the people organised by the party.

He expressed his disappointment after leaders and candidates from the BN component party were seen absent from the programme, while he himself took the time to attend.

Zahid, who is also the Deputy Prime Minister, said the attitude would paint a bad image of the party, especially with the upcoming 14th general election (GE14), which would be held any time from now.

"Please show us the support here (Rembau) even if we give you a seat to contest at a different location. Help our candidates, you want the seat, but you refuse to be present at the programme.

"You need to show respect to the seat. Don't give excuses. I want the good record (in Negri Sembilan) to be achieved," he said during his speech at the "Pemimpin' Bersama Rakyat'" programme at Taman Satria here today.
