PCM: BN to win big thanks to crisis and scandals in PH

GEORGE TOWN: Various crisis and scandals in Pakatan Harapan (PH) will contribute to Barisan Nasional’s comfortable win in the 14th general election, Parti Cinta Malaysia (PCM) said.

PCM deputy president Datuk Huan Cheng Guan said unlike BN, which looked solid and stable, PH seemed unable to wean itself off scandals, especially in Penang and Selangor.

He was referring to the controversial undersea tunnel project in Penang and the Ijok land scandal in Selangor.

“Both these cases are now under the investigation of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), and a number of arrests have been made.

“These scandals have clearly proven that both the state government under PH are tainted.

“This is different compared to the state governments under Barisan Nasional where, up until now, not even one of the Menteri Besar or Chief Minister have been charged in court or embroiled in any corruption scandal,” he said today.

Huan said it was also shocking to note that PH’s prime minister-designate Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad had confirmed to the rakyat that it would not be able to fulfil all the pledges made in the event the pact wins the general election.

“This clearly demonstrates that PH do not have any respect for the rakyat and is taking the people for a ride.

“This is different compared to BN, which has fulfilled majority of promises made to the people,” he said.

Huan also pointed out that under Dr Mahathir, Sabah and Sarawak had been neglected.

“However, under the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, these mistakes were rectified and corrected.

“Under Najib, the Pan Borneo Highway is already being constructed, linking Sabah and Sarawak, and what is more amazing is that this highway is toll - free.

“The people of Sabah and Sarawak appreciate this effort by the BN government and they will continue to support BN,” he stressed.

Huan said with all the above issues, it was highly unlikely for PH to win in the next general election.

He added that PH realised this, and that was why it was against the Anti-Fake News Bill 2018, that was recently tabled in Parliament.

“As we are all aware, PH had used fake news to gain votes in the last general election.

“They started with the so-called 40,000 Bangladeshis voting in Malaysia, then moved on the the so-called ‘blackout’ issue and what not. In the end, all these were proven to be fake, but it cost BN significant amount of votes.

“This time, PH leaders will not be so lucky. With the approval of the Anti-Fake News Bill 2018, they will now face jail time and a fine if they are to be found guilty of spreading fake news.”
