Four surprises for Kedahans in BN manifesto for the state

ALOR STAR: Kedah Barisan Nasional (BN) will be announcing four pleasant surprises to the people in the state in its manifesto for the 14th General Election (GE14) which is developed based on seven core clusters.

The details will be unveiled by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah at the Sultan Abdul Halim Stadium in Jalan Suka Menanti here tomorrow evening.

State BN secretary Datuk Md Rozai Safian hinted that the four elements would involve special incentives for youth, Islamic affairs, non-Muslims, and Langkawi.

“The manifesto, themed “Propelling Development, Realising Dreams” is developed based on seven core clusters which will touch every segment of the multi-ethnic society in the state.

“This manifesto is the thrust of our plan to continue developing the state and realising the dream of every Kedahan in the next five years.

“On top of the seven core clusters, Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah is also expected to announce four element of surprise that BN is offering the people of Kedah,” he said in a special briefing on the manifesto at Wisma Darulaman here today.

Md Rozai, who is also state Umno secretary said the manifesto is based on the three elements; projects that have taken off, those projects that have been approved and those projects in the pipeline.

“Rest assured, the manifesto will cover all aspects of the society from high impact projects, the people’s welfare, infrastructure, education, religious and human capital development,” he said.

It is understood that BN is also focusing on Langkawi following the opposition pact’s decision to field former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad to contest at the island.

Kedah BN is slated to face the toughest battle ever to convince the 1.2 million voters in Kedah following multiple threats from Pas in one corner and the opposition pact comprising of DAP, Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR), Pas splinter party Parti Amanah Negara (PAN) and Umno splinter party Parti Pribumi Malaysia Bersatu (PPBM) which has been slapped with temporary dissolution order by the Registrar of Society (RoS).

BN held 20 of the 36 state seats in the Kedah State Legislative Assembly, which had been dissolved early this month to make way for the GE14.
