BN's special manifesto for Bagan Datuk to be launched on April 28

HUTAN MELINTANG: The Barisan Nasional’s special manifesto for the people of Bagan Datuk for the 14th general election will be launched on April 28, said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

Zahid, who is also BN deputy chairman and incumbent MP for the constituency, said the manifesto which took into consideration the interests of all races in the constituency was scheduled to be launched at Dewan Hajah Tuminah in Kampung Nipah Darat, Bagan Datuk .

“It will cater to the needs of the Malays, Chinese, Indians and Orang Asli because this time there are eight Orang Asli voters.

“We will be fair to all, no empty promises, even things we did not promise we have done what more now with all the pledges we are making,” he said when visiting the Kampung Sungai Buluh polling district here today.

Also present were his wife Datin Seri Hamidah Khamis and incumbent assemblyman for the Rungkup state seat, Datuk Shahrul Zaman Yahya.

Zahid further pledged to implement all the promises in the special manifesto.

“I, Ahmad Zahid promise, I will surely fulfill the promise. This is what is also being done by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak although he was slandered with numerous accusations but stayed firm and strong because he knows the silent majority is steadfastly with BN,” he said.

Ahmad Zahid then met the local Indian community in “An Evening with the Deputy Prime Minister” programme in Kampung Bernam, Batu 11 in Hutan Melintang.

In his speech, the Deputy Prime Minister urged the voters from the Indian community in Hutan Melintangto support the BN leadership, and simultaneously wrest back the Hutan Melintang state seats from Parti Keadilan Rakyat.

“Previously (GE13) Hutan Melintang voters made a mistake but I forgive them. But I ask you to support the BN candidate in GE14 because we can bring a special development in Hutan Melintang and Bagan Datuk in general.

“Maybe Prime Minister (Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak) will give me a second opportunity to contest in Bagan Datuk. So, this time I ask all political parties representing the Indian, Chinese and Malay communities to unite and support BN because the opposition has represented Hutan Melintang twice,” he said. — BERNAMA
