Pas announces candidates for 9 FT parliamentary seats

KUALA LUMPUR: Pas today announced a dentist, Dr Rosni Adam as its candidate for the Bandar Tun Razak parliamentary seat in the 14th General Election (GE14).

The announcement was made by Federal Territories Pas commissioner Mohamad Noor Mohamad.

Dr Rosni is the only female candidate for Pas in the fight for FT parliamentary seats.

Also announced in the event were candidates for eight other parliamentary seats namely Batu, Wangsa Maju, Segambut, Setiawangsa, Titiwangsa, Lembah Pantai, Putrajaya and Labuan.

Mohamad Noor himself has been named as candidate for Titiwangsa seat.

For Batu, Azhar Yahya is set to contest for the parliamentary seat held by incumbent Chua Tian Chang of PKR.

For Wangsa Maju and Segambut, the Islamic party has named Razali Tumirin and Mohd Solleh Ab Razak as their candidates respectively.

The Setiawangsa seat will be contested by Ubaid Abd Akla, a syariah and marketing executive at Koperasi Al Hilal (M) Bhd.

Incumbent of the seat is Datuk Ahmad Fauzi Zahari from Barisan Nasional (BN).

For Lembah Pantai, Fauzi Abu Bakar is set to contest for the parliamentary seat currently held by Nurul Izzah Anwar of PKR.

For Putrajaya, Pas has announced Zainal Kidam as their man for the seat.

In the last term, Putrajaya has been held by Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor, who is also Umno secretary-general.

Pas also announced Ahmad Junid @ Junit Mohd Aling @ Aling as the party's candidate for Labuan.

In the last general election, out of 13 FT seats, the opposition parties; DAP and PKR, won nine seats namely Kepong, Batu, Wangsa Maju, Segambut, Bukit Bintang, Lembah Pantai, Seputeh, Cheras and Bandar Tun Razak.

Barisan Nasional won four seats; Setiawangsa, Titiwangsa, Putrajaya and Labuan.
