DAP candidates for Perak named

IPOH: As expected, Perak DAP announced constitutional expert Prof Dr Abdul Aziz Bari as the sole Malay candidate among those contesting the seven parliamentary and 18 state seats in the 14th General Election.

The announcement was made by DAP secretary general Lim Guan Eng at Wisma Chin Woo here.

Before this Perak DAP chairman, Nga Kor Ming announced that Guan Eng would be contesting the Teluk Intan parliamentary seat against Gerakan president Datuk Seri Mah Siew Keong.

Among the candidates, only Nga would be contesting two seats, theTeluk Intan parliamentary seat and Aulong state seat.

DAP will be fielding six new faces for the state seats - Canning, Tebing Tinggi, Jelapang, Menglembu, Astaka (earlier Sitiawan) and Keranji.

Abdul Aziz will contest the Tebing Tinggi state seat while incumbent Ong Boon Piow will be moved to contest the Berkhampstead state seat.

Perak DAP advisor Datuk Ngeh Ko Ham be defending the Berusia parliamentary seat.

The Taiping state seat will be contested by Leow Thai Yee while Ipoh Timur member of parliament , Thomas Su will move to contest the Kamaruddin parliamentary seat.

State DAP secretary Wong Kah Woh, who is also the incumbent for the Canning state seat will replace Su in Ipoh Timur while the Canning state seat will be represented by Jenny Choy Tsi Jen.
