LUMUT: The Perak Government has resolved the granting of strata titles to 28,000 home owners, to date.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir said the number would increase from time to time until all the 46,000 home owners in the state received their strata titles as a result of the effectiveness and efforts of the departments concerned in solving the problem of the residents.
“So far, we have settled 28,000 strata titles and have drastically cut down (pending cases) as the process takes a long time since there are several processes that need to be done,” he said.
Zambry was speaking after launching an event to hand over strata titles to developers and joint management bodies at the Bukit Permata Apartment here today.
“To do this process, various problems arise involving ownership such as deceased applicants, how to carry out a transfer ownership will to their families and management problems such as water and electricity bills,” he explained.
Meanwhile, Zambry said the Perak Barisan Nasional (BN) had decided to nominate 50 per cent new faces to contest in the 14th General Election (GE14) as a transformation process towards better confidence in giving the best service to the people.
He said the selection of new candidates which was made based on consultations was evaluated carefully to ensure only a truly qualified candidate would contest in an area. -- Bernama
