Don't resort to name calling, says Zambry

IPOH: Lead by example, do not be upset when faced with name calling said Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir.

Zambry said people should not be quick to act on their feelings if they were to be called out in social media.

“Do not follow your emotions when someone calls you derogatory names. We should not stoop as low as they are.

“I have been called so many things before with so many colourful words, and I could have replied to it all but I decided not to.

“Whatever imperfections we have, we strike for facts, justice, respect for each other. You cannot just say that Malaysia is bankrupt or spread lies, you cannot take advantage as the country is still peaceful and thriving.

“This is why we need to have respect for each other, and you must set a good example if you want to lead the people,” he said at the state annual celebration for Vaisakhi at the St John Ambulance Hall, here.

Also the state Barisan Nasional chairman, Zambry said the Vaisakhi celebration proves that the country values the cultural and religious of its people.

“This is what’s unique about us Malaysians. We are able value understanding. Tonight, we are presenting the true Malaysian experience,” he said.

At the event, Zambry also handed out awards to nine top students for their excellent achievements in SPM. The students received RM100 and a certificate each.
