PKR's Rafizi Ramli spared legal suit from Negri Sembilan MB

SEREMBAN: Barisan Nasional (BN) Rantau state seat winner Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan will not proceed with legal action against PKR vice-president Mohd Rafizi Ramli for the latter's allegation against him and BN Youth chairman Khairy Jamaluddin.

Rafizi had accused Mohamad and Khairy for being responsible for the Election Commission's decision to prevent PKR candidate Dr S. Streram from entering the nomination centre at the Seri Rembau Hall on Saturday.

Mohamad, who is also state’s Menteri Besar said, he would not waste time to entertain the opposition’s accusation which was clearly staged to smear the good name of the party.

“There’s no point to fight the ‘kid’,” he said, referring to Rafizi.

“Khairy had lodged the police report and I believe that’s more than enough to prove to them (opposition) that we definitely have nothing to do with this,” he added.

Mohamad admitted that he was not satisfied when his name was declared the unopposed winner for the Rantau seat, following the failure of Streram to submit his nomination paper.

"I was born and brought up in Rantau, and I had never left the area. I have no problem to face any opponents there because I am confident the people in Rantau know me well.

“I am ready to give a good fight. It was quite disappointing when things like this happened," he said at the press conference after launching Perumahan Rakyat Desa Sutera in Ladang Kirby Labu here today.

Rafizi had also allegedly raised racial sentiment among the Indian voters in the state, and Mohamad said it was a serious matter and uncalled for.
