Pas: DAP will do anything to win Malay votes

KOTA BARU: DAP will do whatever it takes, including working with its hitherto biggest enemy, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, to win Malay votes.

Pas deputy president Datuk Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said DAP won votes only from Chinese voters and would never progress without Malay votes.

“In that sort of situation, DAP will do anything, and Dr Maha-thir is one of the strategies the party is using (to win Malay votes).

“Even though there was some objection to using the PKR logo for the election, in the end DAP had to do it because this was another strategy to win Malay votes after Pas left the opposition pact.

“We know DAP’s attitude towards Islam. When we made regulations to stop business operations for a while during Maghrib (prayers) in Kelantan, DAP opposed it even though it had nothing to do with its party and the people of Kelantan had no problems with it,” he said at the state Pas headquarters.

Asked about Nik Omar Nik Aziz, the late Pas spiritual adviser Datuk Nik Aziz Nik Mat’s son who is contesting as a PKR candidate in Chempaka, he declined to comment.
