KANGAR: Perlis Barisan Nasional (BN) will apologise to Raja Perlis Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Putra Jamalullail following the misunderstanding on the appointment of Menteri Besar recently.
Its secretary Datuk Zahidi Zainul Abidin said they will hold a press conference to explain the real reason for their rejection of Datuk Seri Azlan Man’s appointment to the post.
“The press conference is to apologise to Raja Perlis for the misunderstanding that occurred recently.
“It will be attended by all nine BN elected representatives who will explain why they reject Azlan as Menteri Besar,” he said when contacted today.
The Padang Besar parliamentarian said the press conference will be held at the Putra Regency Hotel here at 10.30am on Friday.
“We hope the problem can be resolved,” he said.
The Perlis Menteri Besar crisis enters its third week on Thursday, continuing even after Azlan took the oath of office.
The crisis was due to action by the nine assemblymen who boycotted the swearing-in ceremony held at Istana Arau last Thursday.
