Nazran denies saying ban against Husam came from Palace

KOTA BARU: State secretary Datuk Nazran Muhamad today denied he told local press that the directive to bar Parti Amanah Negara (PAN) vice-president Husam Musa and the state party chief Wan Abdul Rahim Wan Abdullah from entering six palaces and state government premises came from the Palace.

He said he just informed the press that he had received the order from `higher quarters’.

He said it was his responsibility to perform the task given to him by the `higher authority’ and also from the state government.

“It never came out from my mouth that the directive was from the Palace and I even told the journalist that I did not know the reason for the two to be barred.

“It is the press who made their own assessment,” he said when met at his office today.

Meanwhile, Husam when contacted said he accepted the decision with an open heart.

“I will not comment further on this issue. Ramadan is a holy month for Muslims, therefore, better for me not to give any comment,” he said.

It was reported today that the directive to bar Husam who is former Salor assemblyman, and Wan Abdul Rahim from entering palace grounds and state government buildings was imposed following a circular issued by Nazran.

Nazran was reported to have said that the circular had been distributed to more than 2,000 civil servants in the state.
