Show proof of conspiracy against Anwar, PKR sec-gen tells Kapar MP

PETALING JAYA: PKR secretary-general Datuk Saifuddin Nasution Ismail has asked Kapar member of parliament, Datuk Abdullah Sani Abd Hamid, to furnish proof to show that there was a conspiracy to prevent party president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim from becoming the eights prime minister.

Saifuddin said the transition of power would be carried out as previously agreed by the Pakatan Harapan (PH) Presidential Council.

“Since Kapar member of parliament (Abdullah Sani) issued the claims, it is better that the question is directed to him.

“I am of the same stand as (prime minister) Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad who had given his comment yesterday,” he told a Press conference after launching the Companies Commission of Malaysia’s national conference 2018 today.

On a separate matter, Saifuddin said PKR was conducting tests on the e-voting system to identify problems before it was applied nationwide.

He said request made by PKR Terengganu for senior citizens to be exempted from the system was rejected as the party would place officials to facilitate the group.

Dr Mahathir had yesterday denied allegations that he and the Council of Eminent Persons chairman Tun Daim Zainuddin were involved in a conspiracy to prevent Anwar from becoming a prime minister.

Abdullah Sani had previously claimed that the movement, spearheaded by Daim, as an interference to undermine Anwar who was reported to be the next prime minister.
