Unapologetic Zahida slams two-faced Umno members as 'political prostitutes'

KUALA LUMPUR: Puteri Umno lambasted party members and leaders who quit the party to be in cahoots with those on the opposing side after May 9.

The movement’s chief Datuk Zahida Zarik Khan did not mince her words when she likened such people to “political prostitutes” who have no dignity.

Commenting on reputable party leaders leaving Umno after Barisan Nasional's (BN) defeat in the 14th General Election (GE14), Zahida claimed their actions were akin to 'selling' the positions they obtained while in Umno to the enemy.

"We have seen these 'political miners' (pelombong politik). These are people who enter politics to gain as much as they can for themselves.

“Now, we can see how those who obtained status from Umno, are now selling their status to the enemy.

“I am sorry to say, these people are nothing more than political prostitutes who have no dignity,” said Zahida in her policy speech during the Puteri Umno general assembly at the Putra World Trade Centre, here, today.

She added that BN and Umno's defeat in GE14 provided an opportunity for the party to differentiate between its true fighters and two-faced members.
