Respect court's ruling, focus on developing Sabah now: Ewon

KOTA KINABALU: State Rural Development Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick has called on all quarters to move forward in harmony after the High Court dismissed Tan Sri Musa Aman’s originating summons to challenge the Sabah Chief Minister appointment.

Ewon, in a statement today, said the people must respect the court’s decision and should now focus towards developing the state together.

“I am sure the court’s ruling will be made public and become an important case referencing in the future. We must respect the decision.

“With this, it’s about time for all of us, be it public administrative and service members, as well as all sectors to move forward in harmony,” he said.

Ewon, who is also Upko vice-president, said the 15th general election is still a long way to go, stressing all quarters should fill their time by working together towards the benefits of Sabah people.

“The people have the rights to receive a stable government service through a better administration compared to previous years.

“They also have the rights to enjoy better infrastructure and economic development with political stability and harmonious cooperation in the state government, including better ties with the federal,” he said.

All these, he stressed, should be the main focus of leaders within the state government to perform their duties in their best ability for the people.
