1,592 PKR members to recast ballots after votes go missing

MELAKA: A total of 1,592 PKR members from six branches in Melaka will recast their votes via the online voting system at 10am tomorrow (Nov 11).

Melaka PKR chief coordinator Rozaini Kamis said the affected branches were located in Alor Gajah, Masjid Tanah, Tangga Batu, Kota Melaka, Hang Tuah Jaya and Jasin.

Of the total, 180 voters are from Kota Melaka PKR; 66 in Hang Tuah Jaya; 638 in Tangga Batu; 64 in Alor Gajah; 232 in Masjid Tanah and 412 in Jasin.

"PKR members from Masjid Tanah and Alor Gajah will vote at Kompleks Jawatankuasa dan Penyelarasan Dewan Undangan Negeri (JAPERUN) in Lendu, Masjid Tanah while Kota Melaka PKR members will vote at JAPERUN Duyong.

"Hang Tuah Jaya PKR members will vote at the Majlis Perhubungan Negeri office in Bukit Piatu Mutiara, Tangga Batu members at JAPERUN Sungai Udang while Jasin PKR members will vote at the Jasin Municipal Council Hall in Alamanda, Jasin," Rozaini told the NSTP when contacted today.

Meanwhile, all PKR branches in Sarawak will hold their election today. It was reported that six per cent of the total number of votes would come from Sarawak.

Melaka PKR chairman Datuk Seri Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin previously revealed that 2,000 votes had gone "missing" following the party polls in the state on Oct 20.

He had said it was shocking that about 60 per cent of the votes cast in Melaka via the online voting system had gone missing.

The missing votes, he had said, meant that the party was unable to finalise the results of the PKR polls in Melaka.
