Najib: Cameron Highlands' win will serve as turning point for BN

LIPIS: Voters should ensure the Cameron Highlands by-election results on Saturday would serve as a people's referendum towards the failure of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) government.

Former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said after nine months in power, PH was not serious in helping to reduce the burden shouldered by the people in the country and is doing little to provide assistance.

"Last time, they (PH) said you cannot marry today and have a child tomorrow (today become the government and immediately produce results)...but now it’s almost nine months and where is the child (the results).

"The living cost remains unchanged, issues concerning job opportunities have not been solved, commodity prices including oil palm and rubber continue to drop, the people are suffering and the price of petrol did not reduce to RM1.50 as promised by PH.

"So I believe the voters here (Cameron Highlands) are wise enough to realise who they should pick on Jan 26, make sure the by-election results will be a referendum to them (PH),” he said in his speech at a feast organised by Umno Paya Besar in Kampung Kuala Medang here last night.

Najib, who is also the Pekan Member of Parliament, reminded BN's election machinery to continue working hard as the campaign period has less than 48 hours and their efforts will help the candidate secure a huge win.

He said BN's victory in Cameron Highlands will not only proof that Pahang remains as an Umno and BN stronghold but will been seen as the turning point for BN's comeback after losing in the 14th General Election last year.
