I am a thief of hearts, says Najib

SEMENYIH: I am a thief, Datuk Seri Najib Razak said tonight, but the kind that steals the hearts of the people in Semenyih.

It is highly likely that the former prime minister made this remark in relation to Economic Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali having called him a thief previously.

Najib spent some two hours at the Tesco hypermarket, here, and a night market, where he engaged with the people and indulged in their requests for selfies.

Semenyih will soon be a hotbed of activity as a by-election looms with the nomination day set to take place this Saturday.

Barisan Nasional (BN) and Pakatan Harapan (PH) are both expected to announce their candidates for the state seat by-election tomorrow.

Speaking to the media, Najib said those he met tonight mostly complained about the increase in the prices of goods.

They remarked how they have to spend more for daily essentials right now as compared to before.

"I asked the residents here, the main thing they complained about was that goods are getting more expensive," he said.

The "Malu Aper Bossku" trend was also felt tonight as many took to shouting the slogan out to Najib.

Meanwhile, Najib said his presence in Semenyih tonight was at the invitation of the Hulu Langat Umno division.
