PH's Aiman remaining focused on Semenyih campaign amidst Umno-Pas pact uncertainty (NSTTV)

SEMENYIH: Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) candidate in the Semenyih state by-election, Muhammad Aiman Zainali, says he will not allow himself to be distracted by issues surrounding the controversial Umno-Pas pact.

He said he will remain focused on his campaign plans for the state seat.

PH chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad yesterday claimed that Pas president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang has ended his party’s support of Umno.

Pas’s top leadership, however, has yet to come out with a collective statement on the claim.

"If (Pas) is no longer supporting (Umno), that will be to our advantage.

“But that does not mean that we can be distracted and take light of Barisan Nasional's capabilities.

"I will campaign as usual and will regard BN as a strong contender," Aiman said when met during a campaign walkabout at Semenyih market, today.

Aiman is facing off against BN's Zakaria Hanafi, Parti Sosialis Malaysia's Nik Aziz Afiq Abdul, and independent candidate Kuan Chee Heng.

Polling is set for March 2.
