Norman KRU submits Bersatu membership form

KUALA LUMPUR: Former KRU member Datuk Norman Abdul Halim today handed in his Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) membership form.

This was announced by Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad's political secretary Abu Bakar Yahaya on Facebook.

Sharing a photo of Norman handing him the membership form, Abu Bakar said, "After Tun (Dr Mahathir), who is Bersatu chairman, invited Malays to unite, Datuk Norman Abdul Halim submitted his form to become a Bersatu lifetime member to me today."

Norman is also CEO and president of KRU Entertainment.

According to a 2008 report by The Star Online, Norman was previously an Umno member, having joined in 1998.

It is unclear when he left the former ruling party.
