Adhif Syan suspended from Bersatu

KUALA LUMPUR: Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia's (Bersatu) Selangor Youth chief Adhif Syan Abdullah has been suspended from the party.

Also suspended is the national youth wing's assistant secretary Ahmad Redzuan Mohamed Shafi.

Bersatu Youth chief Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman said the decision to suspend the two was made at a Bersatu national youth leaders' council meeting.

"These suspensions are effective immediately until the police concludes their investigation into the case," he said in a statement today.

It is believed that Syed Saddiq was referring to police investigations into the arrest of 17 individuals during a raid at a condominium in Petaling Jaya last Sunday.

Syed Saddiq added that the duties of Selangor Bersatu Youth chief would now be carried out by its deputy Anas Akashah Nazri while Danial Syahiran Ho Imran would carry out Ahmad Redzuan's duties.

He expressed hope that the investigation would proceed smoothly and according to the provisions of the country's laws.
