Don't become a thorn in the flesh, say FT Bersatu division chiefs

KUALA LUMPUR: Federal Territories Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia division chiefs have urged all quarters to put an end to pressure that can harm the strength and unity of Pakatan Harapan (PH).

The leaders advised individuals and groups against becoming a thorn in the flesh, and reiterated that PH was formed through strong consensus, understanding and unity from the party representatives sitting in its presidential council.

This came after several members of parliament from PKR urging Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad to announce a firm date on the power transition from himself to PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

They had proposed for the hand over to take place in May this year.

“Any form of statements insisting for (Prime Minister) Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad to let go of his post is akin to saving one’s own skin.

“All parties should be patient and put all their energy into developing and building a New Malaysia,” they said in a statement today.

They added that Dr Mahathir had repeatedly assured that the transition of power would happen and would be discussed during PH presidential council meetings.
