KUALA LUMPUR: Ampang Umno division chief Datuk Ismail Kijo died today due to Covid-19.
He was 69.
The Umno veteran passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital at 12.33pm while seeking treatment.
Ismail was said to have been admitted to the hospital after he tested positive for the novel coronavirus on Jan 26.
Two days later his condition was said to have worsened and he was transferred to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Ismail at one time was also Lembah Jaya Assemblyman.
