Ex-minister Johari to seek Titiwangsa comeback

KUALA LUMPUR: Federal Territories Umno liaison committee chairman Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani has been named as Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate for the Titiwangsa parliamentary seat.

The former second finance minister was among the candidates announced by BN chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi tonight.

In the last election, Johari lost Titiwangsa to caretaker Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Rina Harun in a three-cornered fight, in which he polled 19,701 votes.

Rina won the seat with 23,840 votes while Pas' Mohamad Noor Mohamad obtained 6,845 votes.
