GE15: Rafizi fires broadside at PN; lists failures

PETALING JAYA: PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli took aim at Perikatan Nasional (PN) by once again listing the coalition's failures during its 18 months in power.

He said this included the poor handling of the Covid-19 pandemic, failure to provide National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) discounts and the alleged involvement of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia-PN leaders in scandals.

Rafizi said during Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin's time as prime minister, the people went through two long Movement Control Order periods that destroyed the economy.

"This failed to contain the Covid-19 pandemic, with the country recording 4.92 million cases and 36,482 deaths," he said in a statement.

Rafizi also wondered how PN would be able to keep its promise on PTPTN given the current economic condition.

"PTPTN is borrowing at a commercial rate from private financial institutions and lending to students at a low-interest rate without receiving full repayments," he said at a press conference here today.

Rafizi also named Bersatu politicians in a forensic audit report on the littoral combat ship issue.

He urged voters not to forget these failings, adding that the 18 months were agonising for the people.

"Voting for PN would mean voting to relive those 18 months."
