GE15: Leaders of Parti Warisan, Sabah BN, Upko and PBRS retain seats

KOTA KINABALU: Leaders of Parti Warisan, Sabah Barisan Nasional and United Progressive Kinabalu Organisation (Upko) retained their seats in the 15th parliamentary elections.

Warisan president Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal defended Semporna which he has held since 1995. The former Chief Minister was challenged by Ab Rajik Ab Hamid (Pejuang), Arastam Pandorog (Pakatan Harapan) and Nixon Abdul Habi (GRS).

As for Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin, who is the state Deputy Chief Minister, he won the straight fight with Parti Warisan Mazliwati Abdul Malek for his stronghold Kinabatangan seat.

In a close fight with Gabungan Rakyat Sabah's Datuk Joniston Bangkuai in Tuaran, Upko president Datuk Seri Wilfred Madius Tangau defended the seat with 24,943 votes and a slim majority of 233.

In Pensiangan, Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah deputy president Datuk Arthur Kurup retained his seat in a four-way fight.
