GE15: BN candidate loses to PN

TUMPAT: Barisan Nasional candidate and former Pas secretary Datuk Che Abdullah Mat Nawi lost in the 15th General Election, receiving 30,633 votes for the Tumpat Parliamentary seat.

The seat was won by Perikatan Nasional candidate Datuk Mumtaz Md Nawi. Besides Che Abdullah, Mumtaz, who obtained 65,426 votes, also defeated three other candidates.

The three are Wan Mohd Johari Wan Omar of Pakatan Harapan, who garnered 7,763 votes, Che Asemari Che Ali of Putra with 593 votes and Khairul Omar of Warisan with 245 votes.

In GE14, Che Abdullah won the Tumpat parliamentary seat with a majority of 17,500 votes as a Pas candidate.
