Zambry to BN members: Toe the line when making statements

KUALA LUMPUR: Barisan Nasional (BN) secretary-general Datuk Seri Zambry Abd Kadir has reminded coalition members and component parties to uphold solidarity and maintain the consensus already agreed upon by the supreme council especially when issuing statements.

Zambry acknowledged that the Barisan Nasional (BN) headquarters were aware of a few media statements issued by BN component parties that have gone viral.

"Any proposal, proposition or suggestion that has been submitted at meeting level will have to be finalised by the BN supreme council according to the rules and constitution of the party.

"BN's headquarters would therefore advise all sides and quarters to uphold solidarity and the consensus that has been in place all this while in Barisan Nasional so as to ensure that the well-being, peace, harmony and tolerance among members and component parties remains strong and intact.

"Barisan Nasional holds firm to the principles of mutual respect in overcoming any issues faced. Therefore the code of conduct in making or issuing any statements must be maintained as best as possible to avoid any misunderstanding or misinterpretation.

"This includes matters discussed in BN's supreme council meeting," said Zambry via a statement released on Facebook earlier today.
