Najib urges leaders named in 'Pas leaks' document to lodge police reports

KUALA LUMPUR: Former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has called on the individuals listed in the "Pas leaks" document to come forward and lodge a police report.

In his Facebook posting, he said the viral "Pas leaks" document released early this year outlined the dirty political tactics played.

"How vile their game is. Willing to misuse power to achieve goals. There has been no denial from anyone since then. Those named must come forward to give an explanation or lodge a police report."

Najib listed Pas vice-president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar, Pejuang chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Pas secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan, Barisan Nasional treasurer Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein, former Umno supreme council member Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman, Perikatan Nasional information chief Datuk Seri Azmin Ali, Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob and Bersatu secretary-general Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin in the same posting.

The leaked document allegedly contained minutes from a Pas meeting, where there was a supposed discussion about a plot to destabilise Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN).

It comprises a scheme to hasten the sentences of Umno leaders who are either in court or have already been found guilty of offences like criminal breach of trust, abuse of authority and money laundering.

It was reported that the then prime minister Ismail Sabri had chosen to remain silent on the matter because its veracity was questionable.
