Wan Saiful aims jibe at Takiyuddin, saying maybe Pas man 'missed the memo' that PN would be opposition in Parliament

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Wan Saiful Wan Jan took a swipe at Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan today for saying Pas would discuss an invitation to join the new federal government.

The Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia information chief said Takiyuddin may have "missed the memo" that Perikatan Nasional had decided not to join Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's unity government.

Speaking to online news portal Free Malaysia Today, Wan Saiful said all PN members of parliament had been invited to a briefing last night with coalition chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin where the decision to remain as opposition was discussed.

However, he said he did not see Takiyuddin there.

"Perhaps he missed the memo. We were briefed about the need for check and balance in Parliament and the government, so we are very clear about our position," he said.

That decision had been announced by Muhyiddin earlier today, but Takiyuddin had prior to that thanked Anwar for the invitation to PN to join the unity government, adding that the matter would be discussed by Pas.
