'London Move' is too 'far-fetched', says Anwar

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has described the 'London Move' to topple the unity government as being too 'far-fetched'.

When asked by reporters to comment on it, Anwar responded cynically by saying that the move should instead be conducted in the country.

"'London Move' is too far-fetched. It would be cheaper if 'Kajang Move' was done instead," he said when asked by reporters when met before Friday prayers in Bukit Aman.

Anwar was responding to several pictures of Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin holding a closed-door meeting in London that were circulated online.

The pictures fueled speculation on plans hatched by certain parties to oust Zahid, who is also the deputy prime minister.

Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob also claimed he had fallen victim to a "slanderous attack" upon being linked to the alleged plan.

The former prime minister said he was not in London but had been vacationing in the Middle East with his family.
