KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Nurulhidayah Ahmad Zahid, daughter of Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, has successfully secured a seat in Wanita Umno executive committee (exco).
As of 6.45pm, Nurulhidayah was in the top five candidates with the highest number of votes to fill the 20 Wanita Umno exco posts.
She garnered 138 votes, behind Naszriah Ngasri, who managed to get 149 votes.
Meanwhile, former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak's daughter Nooryana Najwa managed to secure the Puteri Umno exco seat with 152 votes, behind Nurul Syifaa Mohd Ridzwan Goh, who had 157 votes.
As of now, the unofficial full results of the Umno wings election are still unknown.
The polls to elect Umno Youth, Wanita and Puteri exco, including its chiefs and deputies, were held at all of Umno's 191 divisions yesterday.
So far, the unofficial results saw Datuk Dr Noraini Ahmad retaining her post as the Wanita Umno chief. Dr Akmal Salleh won the Youth chief post and Datuk Nurul Amal Mohd Fauzi became the new Puteri Umno chief.
