Anwar's former political aide denies pursuing Bersatu MPs to declare support

KUALA LUMPUR: Former political aide of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Datuk Farhash Wafa Salvador, has denied any involvement in 'pursuing' several opposition members to support the leadership of the prime minister.

In a statement today, Farhash said he has no acknowledgement of the baseless allegations made against him by Bersatu youth wing chief Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal.

"The allegations made were ill-intentioned and contain no evidence. The press conference made by Wan Fayhsal is clearly used as a political tool to spread rumours for his own benefit.

"I have not been involved in the political scene for a long time and I am only running a business now.

"(Hence,) I do not understand why he has levelled such baseless accusations against me with the intention of tarnishing my reputation for his political benefit," he said in a statement, today.

Following this, he added that he would also lodge a police report against Wan Fayhsal, who is also the Machang member of parliament and leave it to the hands of the police to take further action.

"(And) I also have a right to file a defamation suit against Wan Fayshal."

Earlier, Wan Fayhsal alleged that two individuals were responsible for 'pursuing' several opposition members to support the leadership of the prime minister.

He claimed the two individuals were 'Datuk Botak' and Anwar's former political aide, Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak.

"There is a video showing the identity of Datuk Botak, who played the role in bribing and threatening opposition MPs to support the prime minister.

"The video also explained the role played by the prime minister's former political aide in this matter. The video is viral on TikTok and Facebook," said Wan Fayhsal.
