PBS and Star to begin official discussions on understanding and cooperation

KOTA KINABALU: Parti Bersatu Sabah and Parti Solidarity Tanah Airku (Star) will commence official discussions on the establishment of understanding and cooperations.

The decision was made following a meeting between the leaders of both parties yesterday.

Both local-based parties agreed to take the move in response to the grassroots' call for both parties to engage in effective and sustainable cooperation for the unity of the multi-ethnic people.

"It is also a continuation of the proposal leading to efforts prior to the 2020 state election.

"(Apart from that), it is also to garner more public support and strengthen the position of the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS)," according to a joint statement from both parties.

Five leaders have been appointed by PBS and Star, both of which are components of GRS, to represent their respective parties in these deliberations.

PBS will be represented by the Secretary General Datuk Julita Majungki, Information Chief Datuk Joniston Bangkuai, Women's Movement Chief Datin Malianah Ugau, and Youth Movement Chief Christoper Mandut.

Meanwhile, the STAR Party will be represented by Vice President/Strategic Director Dr Paul Porodong, Secretary General Datuk Edward Linggu, Information Chief Datuk Jalumin Bayogoh, Women's Movement Chief YB Datuk Flovia Ng, and Youth Movement Chief Kong Soon Choi.

The first official meeting will be held in the near future.
