'Being part of ruling party doesn't mean we have final say'- Adam Adli

PUTRAJAYA: In recognising the nature of the role within the youth wing of a ruling party, it is crucial to acknowledge that having a position does not grant us the ultimate authority in shaping desires, a PKR leader has said.

PKR youth chief Adam Adli Abdul Halim emphasises the importance of steadfast intentions and refined methods in upholding the party's foundation.

"We are currently being observed by the people out there. Our position as members of the youth wing, which is part of the ruling party, does not mean that we have "the final say to what we want."

"Over time, as long as we maintain our intentions and purify our methods - I believe there will be a path to be explored that will bring more opportunities for us in this movement.

"However, let it come without arousing suspicion and negative perceptions among the people who have placed their hopes in us," he said during his speech at the PKR Youth Annual National Congress at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC), here.

In addition to the leadership of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition, the congress was also attended by Umno youth chief, concurrently Barisan Nasional (BN) youth chief, Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh.

Adam Adli highlighted the need for the youth wing to further advocate for the welfare of vulnerable groups. He called for increased initiatives in volunteerism to champion the cause of marginalised communities.

"I must take this opportunity to express gratitude to our volunteer corps, who consistently emerge as one of the earliest groups in aiding disaster victims and those afflicted by misfortune, regardless of the time and circumstances. This is the face of AMK (Angkatan Muda Keadilan), defenders of the vulnerable, and this is what we must strengthen and amplify," he said.
