KEMAMAN: Barisan Nasional(BN)'s Kemaman parliamentary seat by-election candidate, General (Rtd) Tan Sri Raja Mohamed Affandi Raja Mohamed Noor, was caught by surprise today when he found a fake Facebook (FB) account sharing postings about his campaign.
Raja Mohamed Affandi immediately cautioned social media users on Facebook, saying the fake profile used the name "Raja Affandi" while his official account was "Raja Mohamed Affandi".
"I was surprised to see an FB account using my name and picture this morning. In a war, the enemy has various ways to attack.
"I hereby deny that this account officially belongs to me. Please go to 'Raja Mohamed Affandi' page to get the latest updates throughout my campaign," he wrote.
Raja Mohamed Affandi said social media users could also scan the FB QR code, which he had attached with the posting, to visit his official page.
Former Armed Forces chief Raja Mohamed Affandi, born and raised in Kemaman, will take on Pas candidate Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar, the Terengganu menteri besar, in the Dec 2 election.
The by-election was called following the decision of the Terengganu Election Court on Sept 26 to annul the victory of Pas candidate Che Alias Hamid in the 15th General Election.
