PKR delegate wants MoE to establish committee for monitoring anti-establishment teachers

PUTRAJAYA: A PKR delegate has urged the Education Ministry to set up a committee to monitor anti-establishment teachers.

Harayati Abu Nasir, a delegate from Johor, said it was "worrying" that there were public servants, including teachers, openly going against the government.

"We urge the ministry to set up a committee to monitor the worrying trend of teachers not supporting the unity government."

She said this in her debate on the president's policy speech at the party's National Congress here, today.

When met by reporters, Haryati explained that it was merely a suggestion by Johor PKR, as there was growing concern that civil servants did not support Anwar's Madani government.

She said the committee that she suggested was to monitor and identify issues that might cause this group of people to be anti-establishment.

"It is (for the government to) monitor, curb, study, and identify what can be corrected and improved.

"In reality, there are still civil servants who do not support (the unity government). If possible, we want them to give their full support as they are civil servants," she added.
