Someone who has lost his mind making up stories of 10 Bersatu MPs backing Anwar, says Hamzah

KUALA LUMPUR: Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) today dismissed claims that more of its members of Parliament will support the unity government ahead of the coming Parliament sitting.

Its secretary-general, Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin, described the claim as a "made up story being spread by a person who has lost his mind".

"That person has lost his mind… he has joined the other side (of the political divide).

"And now he is forced to create other stories," said Hamzah, who is also the Perikatan Nasional (PN) secretary-general.

Bukit Gantang MP Datuk Syed Abu Hussin Hafiz last month said about 10 more Bersatu lawmakers would declare their support for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim when the Dewan Rakyat sits on Feb 26. (hyperlink: https://www.nst.com.my/amp/news/politics/2024/01/1006020/10-more-bersatu...)

Syed Abu Hussin is the sixth MP from Bersatu to have declared support for the unity government.

The others are Zahari Kechik (Jeli), Mohd Azizi Abu Naim (Gua Musang), Datuk Iskandar Dzulkarnain Abdul Khalid (Kuala Kangsar), Datuk Dr Suhaili Abdul Rahman (Labuan) and Datuk Dr Zulkafperi Hanapi (Tanjong Karang).
