Puad slams Azmin over Bersatu rep's 'betrayal', reminds him of 'Sheraton Move'

KUALA LUMPUR: Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Dr Mohd Puad Zarkashi has hit out at Bersatu Selangor chief Datuk Seri Azmin Ali for his remarks on the recent declaration by a Bersatu representative.

Yesterday, Selat Klang assemblyman Datuk Abdul Rashid Asari had pledged his support for the leadership of the Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.

In a Facebook post, however, Puad reminded Azmin of his own past actions, including the 'Sheraton Move' and the more recent 'Dubai Move', supposedly aimed at ousting the Madani government from power.

"Azmin said, the people are tired of seeing the behaviour of MPs and Bersatu assemblymen shift their support. He forgot, he once made the people tired with the "Sheraton move" and now the "Dubai move", he stated in the post.

Puad said Abdul Rashid's declaration is a real blow to Azmin.

"If it is true that five more state assemblymen plan to shift their support towards Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, then that is going to be a big blow for Azmin. This would cause his position to become shaky in Selangor, and he would no longer be the poster boy of Bersatu Selangor," he wrote in the post.

Puad compared Rashid's action to a Kamikaze mission, as it came right after Bersatu had amended its party constitution.

He added that his actions showed that he is not afraid of the upcoming amendments but is more concerned about the Bersatu party sinking.

"Bersatu will be faced with a party constitution crisis if the amendment is not applied before the registrar of society's approval.
