KUALA LUMPUR: Perikatan Nasional (PN) secretary-general Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin says there is a silver lining in the "betrayal" of seven Bersatu elected representatives.
"At least, we know who is a 'diamond' and who is 'glass'. Who is sincere and who is just taking advantage (of PN)," he said in a speech at PN's convention for elected representatives here today.
"What is important is that PN will not collapse and we will never allow this sacred struggle to be derailed.
"We started with 74 members of Parliament and 210 assemblymen. When the time comes, God willing, we will rule again," he said.
Six Bersatu MPs and one assemblyman have pledged to support the unity government in defiance of their party.z
The six MPs are Datuk Syed Abu Hussin Hafiz Syed Abdul Fasal (Bukit Gantang), Mohd Azizi Abu Naim (Gua Musang), Datuk Dr Zulkafperi Hanapi (Tanjong Karang), Zahari Kechik (Jeli), Datuk Iskandar Dzulkarnain Abdul Khalid (Kuala Kangsar) and Datuk Dr Suhaili Abdul Rahman (Labuan).
Earlier this week, Selat Klang assemblyman Datuk Abdul Rashid Asari, the former Selangor Bersatu chief, announced his support for Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.
