PKR to lodge report with police, MCMC over allegations of embezzling oil royalties

KUALA LUMPUR: PKR will lodge a report with the police against a social media account who accused the party of embezzling billions of ringgit purportedly meant as oil royalty payment to Kelantan and Terengganu.

Its information chief Fahmi Fadzil said he has also instructed the party to lodge a complaint with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) against the individual responsible for the defamatory social posting.

Fahmi, who is also the Communications Minister, described the social media postings as outright false and defamatory that is disgusting.

"PKR will disclose the party's audited financial accounts at every PKR Congress.

"There is no such an amount, as alleged, being deposited into PKR's account," said Fahmi, in a posting on his Facebook account today.

The posting was accompanied by a screenshot of a social media posting by one Facebook user, 'Sabrizan Salleh' in the Jabatan Netizen Negara Facebook group.

"No wonder Kelantan and Terengganu did not receive royalties. It looks like the PMX, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, took this royalty money and deposited it into the PKR party account... billions of ringgit," the posting read.
