KKB polls: Unity govt will focus on success stories, says Saifuddin

KUALA LUMPUR: The unity government will focus and emphasise its success policies and stories during the Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election campaigning period.

PKR secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, when asked to comment on the circulation of an old video showing its current candidate criticising Barisan Nasional, said the the people should look to the future instead of dwelling on the past.

"If we continue to dig up old stories, it will reach the point where Pas was once friends with DAP, Hadi hugged Lim Kit Siang, Hadi hugged Lim Guan Eng.

"It will never end if we continue to dwell on the past. I don't think that's a good practice in politics.

"In politics, we want the people to look ahead," he said.

Saifuddin who is also the home minister was met during the launching of Crime Prevention Carnival at Sri Sabah flat in Cheras.

He said there's no point in talking about old stories because political parties' friendships change, and even Pas had once praised PKR.

Saifuddin said throughout the 12-day campaign, the government would focus on programmes, policies and success stories to help the voters understand why its candidate should be chosen.

He said Pakatan Harapan candidate, Pang Sock Tao from DAP is young, aggressive and with good track records in the party.

"I believed that if the rakyat chose our candidate, KKB will be represented by someone who can easily perform the government's policy whether at the state or national level," he said.
