KKB by-election: 'We can't promise you the moon and stars, but we'll give our best,' says Azmin

KUALA KUBU BAHARU: Perikatan Nasional has vowed to provide its utmost best to elevate the dignity of the Kuala Kubu Baharu constituency through its election manifesto.

In a thinly veiled jab at its opponent, Pakatan Harapan, Selangor PN chairman Datuk Seri Azmin Ali said the coalition promised to fulfil its manifesto to the constituents despite not providing the "moon and stars".

"Someone asked me about my opinion on the PH manifesto, (and) my response is to not believe (it) as they cannot even fulfil their manifesto from two years' back.

"Be it at the national and state level, they failed to fulfil their promises and it is unlikely that they can fulfil them in Kuala Kubu Baharu.

"(However,) we (PN) are launching our manifesto today, (and) while we do not promise the moon and stars, we promise to give our utmost effort and energy to elevate the dignity of Kuala Kubu Baharu," he said during PN's election manifesto announcement for Kuala Kubu Baharu, today.

Earlier, PN unveiled its manifesto announced by its candidate, Khairul Azhari Saut.

The manifesto involved five pillars which aimed to allow the opposition bloc to elevate the voice of the Kuala Kubu Baharu constituents.

He also said the coalition's manifesto for Kuala Kubu Baharu was drawn up based on the issues faced by locals, such as the rising cost of living and the economic situation.

The by-election taking place on May 11 will see a four-corner fight against PH's Pang Sock Tao, PN's Khairul, Parti Rakyat Malaysia (PR) Hafizah Zainuddin, and independent candidate Nyau Ke Xin.

The by-election was triggered by the passing of its three-term assemblywoman from DAP, Lee Kee Hiong, who battled with cancer.
