Ensure that no student gets left behind

LETTERS: Many educational institutions have spent the past few weeks instructing academics to go online in delivering classes for their students while keeping them safe amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

It would be good for the students if this can be maintained continuously. What matters now is to ensure that effective learning is taking place.

Learning experts will tell you that viable online course delivery goes beyond administering lectures and assignments through an Internet interface.

There is the engagement from and between learners apart from providing and optimising learning.

Certain students will have difficulty adjusting to the new approach to learning.

Educators will need to pay close attention to helping these students adjust.

It's definitely worth making an effort to connect and communicate with students. Educators must make themselves available to students.

Students know what they need. So gather as much feedback as you can to ensure you achieve your goals.

Being helpful and willing to hear the students out will make them much more likely to continue.

In short, try to ensure that no student gets left behind.
