Writing from the heart about ordinary people

LETTER: Datuk Ahmad A. Talib's passing is sad. I remember meeting him in 1994 when my company, Tenaga Nasional Bhd, sent me to NST.

It was a retirement treat by the company and for me to acquire writing skills as a writer. I met this very articulate and fearless journalist.

He had a way of saying and telling things to people. He was a seasoned newsman. For some years, he wrote a column, Pahit Manis. I loved reading it.

He rose to be group editor before moving up the corporate ladder in Media Prima Bhd as one of its

boardmembers.

Undoubtedly, he was a good editor. He knew what should be in the paper, and what should not.

He wrote from the heart and on ordinary people as he wanted them to be heard.

He left us last Tuesday. He will be sorely missed.
